Diatomaceous Earth is organic silica-based minerals (including magnesium, iron and calcium) from the ocean floor that act as a physical buffing agent to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote healthy cell renewal.  

This naturally occurring soft sedimentary rock is round so it polishes without damaging the skin.  Just as river rocks become round from the wearing away of water so does this "sand" from the depths of the ocean.

Aloe barbadensis

is widely recognized for its moisturizing abilities. It is skin softening, healing, and anti-inflammatory.
