THE WASHCLOTH

Using a washcloth everyday is an easy, gentle way to exfoliate the skin.

Exfoliation is the key to glowing trouble free skin.  That layer of dead skin on the surface can make our skin appear ashy and also feeds bacteria that can cause acne.

Start with the Face.
Use small circular movements.  If you don't have makeup or dirt to remove try using just the washcloth and water but no cleanser or soap. Sometimes we over use cleanser and end up stripping our natural oils. The washcloth/water combo removes the dead cells without stripping the oils.
Next Arms, Legs and Torso.
Same concept applies here.   These aren't always "stinky" body parts so maybe they don't always need soap-just exfoliation to feel clean.
Pits and Privates.
Since we have different types of sweat glands here it is best to add a little soap into the mix.  If you shave or wax these areas the washcloth helps eliminate dead skin and lift hairs so you are less prone to ingrowns and bumps.

Basic Rules for Washcloth Use
1)Always wring out and hang up after use so bacteria/mold don't breed.
2)After the washcloth is dry toss it in the laundry basket.
3)Wash in hot water and dry on high to kill all those germs.
4)Use washcloth one time only before tossing in the wash.

SHAVING TIPS: LEGS

Exfoliate  In the shower or bath before shaving take a washcloth (no  soap) and gently exfoliate the skin.  This will reduce the dead skin on the surface and lift stubbly hairs that may be caught just under the surface.

Shaving Gel  This lubricates the skin so that the razor catches the hair not the skin.   The shaving gel doesn't need to be fancy or expensive. Any men's gel at the grocery will do.

Fresh Blades  A new blade has a really smooth surface that makes a very clean cut.  The older the blade the rougher the edge thus the rattier the cut.   Try the Mach 3 razor by Gillette.

Moisturize  Always moisturize after shaving to lock in all that smooth beauty you just created. If lotion stings try a bit of grapeseed or apricot oil.  I really like the Aura Cacia brand (available at New Seasons).
